About Us

Arboretum Internationale Ltd., established in 1997, with offices in Perth and Nottinghamshire, provides a tailor-made tree-care programme to owners and managers of woody plant collections worldwide.  We recognise the widely differing aims, uses, objectives, and plant material found in collections and the unique solutions required to maintain and manage them.

The largest, living features in any landscape, natural or constructed, are trees.  Many of these awe inspiring plants are found within specialist collections of varying size and age.  It is essential that careful thought is given to the management & sustainability of these collections to retain the irreplaceable biodiversity that they contribute to the wider global environment.  Arboretum Internationale believes that unique plant collections are best served through accurate tree inspection, routine planned maintenance, education and creative interpretation.

As an approved contractor of the Arboricultural Association, this company is vigorously audited to ensure compliance with modern standards of tree work, health and safety and environmental care.  The Arboricultural Association programme of approval is unique as a nationally recognised quality assurance scheme for the tree-care industry.  This company has been an approved contractor since 2002.

Arboretum Internationale Ltd. has been actively involved in the design, provision and delivery of training and assessment for professional arboriculture for many years.  Staff continue to be involved in working groups on behalf of NPTC, LANTRA and the Arboricultural Association to advise on technical and safety standards, liaising with the Health and Safety Executive amongst others to promote safer, effective ways of working for the arboricultural industry.

HERITAGE and Veteran Trees

Cultural and environmental contributions made by our native and exotic tree species play intrinsic roles in our everyday lives.  The ancient and giant trees are more easily recognisable; they also present technically difficult management problems, for which Arboretum Internationale Ltd. has solutions based upon many years of real experience working with some of Europe's oldest and largest specimen, veteran and heritage trees.

Arboretum Internationale Ltd. are very proud to have made a positive contribution to the careful, practical management of some of Tayside's, if not the UK's most important trees:

  • The Fortingall Yew
  • The Parent Larch
  • The Pedestal Larch
  • The Camperdown Elm
  • The Birnam Oak
  • Eppie Callum's Oak
